Pool Fencing in the City of Casey
Outlook Fencing designs, fabricates and installs pool fences across the City of Casey from our Pakenham workshop — just over the border in Cardinia Shire. We’ve been a family-owned team since 2003, and every fence we build is made in-house to meet Australian Standard AS 1926.1 and the Victorian building code.
Why Casey homeowners call us
Casey is one of Victoria’s fastest-growing corridors, and the pool fencing work splits into two distinct types:
- Established suburbs like Berwick, Narre Warren and Endeavour Hills — where pools are often part of a backyard renovation, the fence needs to work with existing landscaping, decking and boundary treatments, and recertification is driving older-barrier upgrades
- Growth hotspots like Cranbourne, Clyde, Clyde North and Hampton Park — where new homes on smaller lots are going in with new pools, and the barrier has to be planned tight against boundaries, alfresco areas and neighbouring fences
Because we’re based in Pakenham — a 10-minute drive from the Casey border — we know both. We assess the whole proposed barrier on site: gates, ground levels, paving, decking, boundaries and anything nearby that could be climbed, before we confirm a layout or a price.
Pool fencing options we install across Casey
- Frameless glass — minimal hardware, uninterrupted views across the pool and entertaining area
- Semi-frameless glass — toughened panels on slim posts, a different structural and budget option
- Aluminium tubular — robust, low maintenance, suited to family homes and rentals
- Perforated aluminium — a modern look with wind break and privacy
- Colorbond feature fencing — often used as a combined pool barrier and boundary solution on tighter lots
See our pool fencing services or the glass pool fencing Pakenham page for detail on glass-specific installs in the adjacent Pakenham area.
How compliance works in the City of Casey
Pool and spa barrier regulations are set nationally under Australian Standard AS 1926.1 and applied through the Victorian building code — the rules are the same whether you’re in Cranbourne, Berwick or Narre Warren. What the City of Casey manages is the process:
- Registration of your pool or spa on the council register
- Building permits for new or modified barriers
- Compliance inspections and the compliance certificate
You can use a private building surveyor or the council’s process. We handle the building permit on your behalf as part of our installation scope — see our building permits page for how that works.
The compliance check looks at the complete barrier system, not just the fence panels. Gates, clearances, ground levels, boundary fences and nearby climbable elements all affect whether the barrier passes. On Casey’s tighter new-estate lots, boundary proximity is often the make-or-break factor — we plan for it before we install.

Casey pool fencing FAQs
Do I need a building permit for a pool fence in Casey?
Yes. Any new or modified pool barrier requires a building permit, and your pool or spa must be registered with the City of Casey. We handle the permit as part of your installation.
My lot is small — can the pool fence double as the boundary fence?
Sometimes, yes. On tighter Casey lots, a Colorbond or perforated panel can act as both the pool barrier and the boundary — but it has to meet the barrier requirements for height, non-climbability and gate placement. We assess this at the site measure.
Can you install on a sloping block?
Yes. Sloping sites need careful layout and fixing specification — core-drilled spigots, stepped panels or adjusted heights. We assess this at the site measure.
How long does installation take?
Most straightforward installs take one to two days once materials are ready. Complex layouts, longer runs or sloping sites can take longer — we confirm timing in the quotation.
