Why frameless?

Keep the pool and landscaping in view.

Frameless glass uses toughened safety-glass panels with minimal visible support. The result is an open view across the pool area and a clean finish that works particularly well with contemporary homes, established gardens and outdoor entertaining spaces.

Minimal visual interruption

Clear panels preserve sightlines between the house, pool and garden.

Planned panel layout

Panel sizes, joints and gates are considered together for a balanced result.

Detail-focused installation

Alignment, glass gaps and hardware positioning receive close attention.

Designed for the site

The fixing method matters.

The best-looking layout still needs a sound structure beneath it. During the measure we consider the finished surface, supporting concrete or structure, levels, drainage, access and adjoining barriers before confirming the system.

  • Core-drilled spigots: a streamlined option where the supporting concrete and site conditions suit.
  • Base-plated spigots: fixed to a suitable structural surface with visible base plates.
  • Side-mounted glass: useful in selected raised or edge conditions where the structure allows.
  • Wall and post brackets: used where panels finish against suitable adjoining structures.

Glass gates & hardware

Hardware selected as part of the whole barrier.

Glass gates require suitable self-closing and self-latching hardware, careful positioning and appropriate clearances. We plan the gate swing and everyday walking path before ordering the glass.

Polished stainless steel
Black hardware
White hardware
Other colours—price on application

Hardware includes spigots, hinges, latches and brackets where used. Satin finishes can require more maintenance in exposed conditions, so we generally recommend polished stainless, black or white.

Budget & quotation

What affects frameless glass pool fencing cost?

Price is shaped by the complete installation rather than glass length alone. Gates, custom panels, fixing conditions, demolition, access and changes in level can materially affect the quotation.

  • Total fence length and panel layout
  • Number, position and size of glass gates
  • Core-drilled, base-plated or side-mounted fixing
  • Paving, decking, retaining walls and structural preparation
  • Removal of existing fencing and site access

Estimate My Fence Cost

Frameless or semi-frameless?

Frameless glass provides the least visually interrupted result. Semi-frameless glass uses slim supporting posts and can suit different structural, design or budget requirements. We can compare both during the measure.

Our process

From site measure to finished fence.

01

Measure

We inspect the proposed barrier, surfaces, levels and access.

02

Plan

We work through panel layout, gate position, hardware and fixing options.

03

Quote

You receive a documented scope showing the agreed system and inclusions.

04

Install

Many straightforward installations take one to two days once materials are ready; complex sites may take longer.

Pool-barrier compliance

A pool barrier operates as a complete system. Gates, ground clearances, boundaries, nearby structures and climbable objects all matter—not just the new glass panels. We plan and install the agreed fencing scope with the relevant barrier requirements in mind.

Existing site conditions and the final compliance outcome may also involve a building surveyor or pool-safety inspector. Any concerns identified during the measure should be addressed before installation or clearly included in the scope.

Cleaning and maintenance

Use fresh water, a soft cloth or squeegee and a mild glass cleaner where needed. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh products that may damage glass coatings or hardware finishes.

Keep hinges and latches clean, and regularly check that every gate self-closes and self-latches from all open positions. Arrange adjustment promptly if operation changes.

Common questions

Frameless glass pool fencing FAQs

How thick is frameless pool-fence glass?

The glass specification depends on the selected system, panel size and gate arrangement. We confirm the appropriate glass and hardware for the measured layout.

Can frameless glass be installed on existing paving?

Often, but the structure beneath the paving is what supports the fence. We assess the fixing conditions during the site measure.

Can frameless glass be installed on a timber deck?

It may be possible where the deck structure is suitable or can be prepared for the required loads. The finished boards alone are not enough to determine this.

Do glass pool gates self-close?

Pool gates require appropriate self-closing and self-latching operation. Gate position, hardware and surrounding conditions are planned as part of the barrier.

Where does Outlook Fencing install frameless glass pool fencing?

We are based in Pakenham and install across Melbourne, particularly the south-east and surrounding suburbs. See our Frankston glass pool fencing page and project gallery.
